The Board of Directors of the Children's Cancer Foundation, Inc. has set the date for the next board meeting to September 7, 2011 in order to get last minute business done prior to the Red White and Blue Gala.
Guest at the August 17 meeting was Courtenay Howard, who is interested in helping CCF.
It was mentioned that Harper Hill may come back as a member of the board.
Sammie Wiggins reported on her progress for the RWB Gala and announced that many people have donated services to make the evening an even bigger success. She was very happy to announce that singer/performer and local sensation Dustin will be featured as well as the Road Kill Ghost Riders band.
Nan Smith has asked the board to move her support from Board of Directors to Boosters. She said she would continue to maintain the website and blogs for CCF and work on fundraising. The board meeting of Aug. 17 would be her last as an active board member.
A local organization established to help area kids who have received the devastating diagnosis of childhood cancer and are undergoing treatment. It is our goal to support families and kids who need to travel for treatment, provide help with utilities, food, treatment and prayer. We also try to meet the needs of individual patients with parties, celebrations, Christmas events, end-of-chemo parties and other resources as needed.
